APA is performed using Area Velocity Flow System type ISCO 2100 Series modules.

A measuring sensor mounted on the channel bottom records the flow velocity according to the Doppler principle and the filling level by means of an integrated pressure sensor. The measuring sensor is supplied with 24 V DC by the evaluation electronics. The two values for flow velocity and filling level are transmitted directly to the evaluation electronics at the sensor as a 4 -20 mA signal. This makes it possible to install the evaluation unit at almost any distance from the installation location in the duct.

The collected data is collected and processed in the processor of the Area Velocity Flow System.
The programming of the required boundary conditions (channel cross-section, etc.) and the data evaluation is carried out via software installed on a laptop.

A big advantage of this measuring system is the simple installation, which allows a measurement in almost all accessible channels, as well as the possibility to measure in the backwater area by recording the flow velocity, and the high system accuracy.
